Use Assessment and Evaluation Strategies
Nursing educators must use a variety of strategies to assess and evaluate student learning in the classroom, laboratory and clinical settings, as well as in all domains on learning.
Assessment and evaluation are such important aspects of being a nursing instructor. Done right, this allows the student to evaluate themselves and enhances the learning process. Utilizing evidence based practices allows the teacher to use proven methods of evaluation. Just as every student learns differently, they also may need different forms of assessment and evaluation.
My goal is to keep current with evidence based practices and remember my students are different and may require different yet proven forms of assessment and evaluation. It is also my goal to provide constructive and fair feedback which allows my students to grow and learn.

Inpatient Surgical Survey
As a result of my scholarly project within Ferris' MSN program, Munson Medical Center is implementing a new project in which a nurse will be physically going to the units to help streamline the surgical process for inpatients. Currently this survey is being used for two weeks (starting 4/28/14) to gather base information. I am very excited and proud that my scholarly project is moving forward.
